UPDATED COVID-19 PROTOCOL
as of November 18, 2020

Please review prior to At-Home visits

  • Ideally, visits should be performed in a well ventilated area.
  • We will continue to provide outdoor or garage visits for all dogs over 30 pounds. You can bring your pet's favorite bed or blankets to make things more comfortable for them.
  • For families who prefer to stay inside, we will provide door-side visits:
    • THIS IS ONLY FOR PETS WEIGHING LESS THAN 30 POUNDS.
    • The doctor will not come in to your house. Dr. Ellen is high risk and would like to protect herself and the families she serves by using an abundance of caution.
    • You will need to be able to carry your pet to the porch/doorway, as needed during the visit. If you are unable to carry your pet, the visit will need to be performed outside.
    • We recommend you have a bed or blanket for your pet to keep them comfortable and to make it easier to move or adjust them, if needed.
    • Make sure other pets are safely secured in the house.
    • At the end of the visit, we ask that you move your pet outside so we can prepare them to travel with us for cremation services.
  • If you or any member of your family has been febrile, sick or showing symptoms or has been exposed to anyone who is sick in the prior 2 weeks, we ask that you cancel your appointment. We will be monitoring ourselves as well. If the doctor is showing any signs of sickness or is exposed to others, we will cancel our visits with you. The safety of our team and the families we serve is of utmost importance.
  • Please limit those in attendance to people who live in the household. While we usually recommend having lots of love and support, now is not the time to have family, friends and neighbors present. FaceTime/Skype/Zoom is one way to include others who want to be present.
  • All participants should properly wear a mask during the duration of our visit. You should also maintain at least 6 feet distance from the doctors. We will help guide you during the visit with the goal minimizing your time apart from your pet.
  • We will call prior to the visit to answer any questions you have and to review what to expect.
  • Once you have scheduled your visit, we will send you an authorization form to be filled out prior to the visit. We will also send the invoice. We recommend you pay the invoice no more than 2 hours prior to the visit. In the event that your pet passes prior to our visit or the visit is rescheduled, refunds may take up to 2 weeks. Payment and authorization should be completed before our arrival so that we can maintain a contactless visit.
  • Keep a box of tissues and small garbage bag close as we will not be able to provide them for you.
  • If we will be in the garage, please move the cars out to ensure we have plenty of room to work.
  • We can not allow you to help with handling of your pet. Please advise our team of any aggressive tendencies or reactivity so that we can safely handle your pet.
  • If we are taking your pet for cremation services, we will handle all arrangements and transportation of your pet. Please make sure we can easily maneuver a stretcher out of your yard or garage. For larger pets, we may arrange for Faithful Companion to pick up directly from your home. While we try to arrange for them to be there as close to the end of the visit as possible, sometimes there is a delay to their arrival.
  • In the case of severe weather or storms, we may need to postpone or reschedule your visit.
  • We appreciate your patience and commitment to helping keep all involved safe. We will do our absolute best to make this a peaceful process for your pet and your family.
